About the Artist
Unlocking Beauty through Light and Line

A chance visit to the Art Institute of Chicago's exhibit on Monet's Haystacks ignited a love affair with the world of art when Katy Haskell was in middle school. In 6th grade, Katy was told that art was not her path, so she hung up her brushes and pursued other interests during her high school and college years. Consistently drawn to art, Katy pursued her degree in art history at the University of Virginia. Following a whim, Katy started dabbling in studio art in 2002. Focusing on oils for the last seventeen years, Katy currently studies with Dawn Whitelaw, Jon Redmond, Matt Lively and Jane Joyner. Katy enjoys challenging herself artistically, unlocking beauty through light and line. She is drawn to coastal scenes and opportunities to dive into the mysteries of nature.
